Dr. Sławomir Jack Giletycz

Dr. Sławomir Jack Giletycz

is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Earth Sciences at National Central University, Taiwan. His expertise spans structural geology, geomorphology, neotectonics, and field training. A certified UAV pilot for both fixed-wing and rotary platforms exceeding 9kg, he leads research expeditions to the High Arctic, focusing on Arctic geomorphology and structural geological mapping of rapidly retreating glacier regions. Dr. Giletycz also directs the Polar Research Station in Svalbard, leading a team mapping newly exposed topography resulting from glacial retreat, studying fluvial system development using UAV imagery, conducting paleo-coast surveys, as well as facilitating and bridging all the research projects between global and Taiwan Polar Institute. His work significantly contributes to Taiwan's presence in global climate change research and international collaborations.
