    追求永續-中大極地研究中心推動台灣 珍貴小米種子入庫北極

    在國立中央大學極地研究中心的推動下,台灣研究團隊將於 5 月底前進北極,將第一批計 170 種珍貴台灣小米種原,送達挪威斯瓦爾巴世界種子庫(SvalbardGlobal Seed Vault),以維繫小米基因多樣性。

    台灣無私貢獻! 將小米送入「世界末日全球種子庫」

    〔記者林曉雲/台北報導〕攸關人類永續生存、有全球農業諾亞方舟之稱的「挪威斯瓦爾巴全球種子庫」,將於 5 月 29 日舉辦「台灣參與全球種子庫計畫」入庫典禮,中央大學今開記者會宣布,由中央大學台灣極地研究中心推動,結合辜嚴倬雲植物保種中心、農業部農業試驗所和民間團體阿之寶等單位合作,台灣科學團隊將前進北極,將台灣希望種子小米送達世界種子庫,以維繫小米基因多樣性,這是國際合作、科學外交與永續發展之重要里程碑。

Research Orintation

TaiPI, grounded in an international perspective and interdisciplinary collaboration, is committed to advancing polar science globally. Our research spans six key domains: atmospheric sciences, biodiversity, geology and geophysics, hydrology and Permafrost, oceanography, space and remote sensing, as well as climate change and sustainable development. In response to the pressing global challenges of climate change and environmental degradation, we focus on collecting data, identifying emerging issues and challenges, and providing profound insights and actionable recommendations. Through strong international partnerships, we contribute vital scientific data and analysis to support global climate governance and a sustainable future.
